The Elvetham is one of those venues that instantly makes you stop for a second when you arrive. The long driveway, the gardens, the incredible building itself… it has such a welcoming atmosphere while still feeling really special for a wedding day.

I’ve photographed weddings at The Elvetham before and it’s always a venue I enjoy working at because it suits relaxed wedding photography so naturally.

There’s loads of space, beautiful light throughout the day and plenty of spots for natural portraits without dragging couples away from their guests for ages.For this wedding, the whole day felt really easy-going from the very beginning.

The couple wanted the day to feel fun and relaxed rather than too formal, which fits perfectly with the way I photograph weddings.I’m never someone who wants couples standing around posing for hours.

Most people tell me they feel awkward in front of the camera at first, so I keep everything natural and simple.

Usually after a few minutes people completely forget the camera is even there.The grounds at The Elvetham are perfect for this kind of photography because even a quick walk outside creates loads of variety for portraits while still keeping the day flowing natural one of my favourite things to photograph there is the golden evening light across the gardens just before sunset. It always creates such a relaxed atmosphere and gives couples a chance to pause together for a few quiet moments during the day.

The Elvetham really is an amazing venue for couples wanting a wedding that feels elegant but still comfortable and personal.
