After photographing quite a few weddings over the years, you start to notice patterns.
Not just in what works but in what couples wish they’d done differently. Here are a few of the most common regrets (and how to avoid them).
1. Not Leaving Enough Time for Photos.
Timings can get tight quickly on a wedding day. If everything runs back to back, it can feel rushed and that takes away from the experience. A bit of breathing room makes a huge difference.
2. Too Many Group Shots.
Group photos are important but too many can take over your day. I always recommend keeping them to a manageable list so you’re not stuck posing for ages instead of enjoying your wedding. WE go through the time you have for this so I can help recommend what would work.
3. Not Having a Plan for Rain.
This is the UK it happens. Having a simple backup plan (even just a sheltered area) means we can still get great photos without stress.
4. Choosing a Photographer Based on Price Alone!!!
This is a big one.
Your photos are one of the only things that last beyond the day itself. It’s worth choosing someone whose work and approach you genuinely like. With 20 years under the belt I can certainly help.
5. Not Feeling Comfortable With Their Photographer.
This might be the most importantone. you will spend a lot of your day around your photographer. If you don’t feel at ease, it shows in thephotos My approach is always to keep things relaxed, well-paced, and natural so you can actually enjoy your day while I capture it.
