Hi I'm Steve Chatterton the owner of SJC photography based in Basingstoke Hampshire.
I have been taking photographs firstly with film then moving on to digital for more than 30 years…. Ah showing my age now, but this does show a love and commitment to this craft.
Many moons ago I started photography helping in a small studio taking product shots for aircraft parts mainly all black and white was required back then. This has never left me and built a foundation for my photography.I was a young vibrant but unknowingly naive person but over the years I have developed a warmth for working with clients of all ages.
I started with film with weddings then moving over to digital as this was where clients nowadays
want to show their photos on line to family and friends.Still returning for the large mounted prints for the walls as well.
Modern Portraits sessions have taken a new step with more clients liking the natural environment where family's feel more relaxed in their habitat and this conveys through the photos taken of them.
Proud as a family man with the happiness that this brings fills a big part of my life with my darling wife and child, so having images that capture moments is something important to me to be able to share with loved ones over time.
I also help fellow photographers from time to time in London and various counties which is nice to liaise with other creative mind sets. This keeps you up to date with whats going on in the photography circles and keeps your feet on the ground.
Commercially of late I have welcomed the AA automotive association to my client list which I am happy to link with one of the larger companies in Basingstoke Hampshire.
I joined swpp society for training purposes as there is always something new to learn especially from master photographers and to reassure you my clients that I belong to a professional association.
It is very pleasing to have been awarded for a 20x16 print entered at the SWPP convention in London January 2017.
With these entries it's not about the accolade that comes with it but formulates a bench mark of a high standard that then rolls over to the paying clients when I am commissioned too.
Yes, I have a sense of humour I think, a bit dry but silly some people call this being a little bit mad!!!
